Unfortunately, Dr. Shakshuka was closed...
But I was determined to try shakshuka.
Shakshuka is believed to be a Tunisian dish (which encompasses the peoples around the mediterranean?). It's traditionally a rich sauce of tomatoes, onion, chili peppers (thank god mine didn't have those!), with eggs poached within it and cumin to taste. Ours also included egg plant and some sort of cheese (which is always a plus in my book). It was pretty darn scrumptious if I do say so myself.
Hopefully, I can find a recipe when I get home.
The company also made it pretty darn special, as well as the eerie deserted alleys and streets on Shabbat.
Newest decor: a soul for trying new things, especially new foods.
